Description
Replace a Worn or Broken Restroom Stall Slide Latch
The 1869 polished chrome surface-mounted slide latch provides replacement locking hardware for compatible commercial restroom partition doors. Its exposed sliding mechanism mounts on the inside face of the door, making it accessible for operation and routine inspection.
The rectangular mounting plate has 2-3/4″ center-to-center mounting holes. Compare this measurement with your existing hardware before ordering, along with the latch position and the keeper on the adjacent pilaster.
Features and Benefits
-
Surface-mounted design: Installs on the door face rather than inside a concealed latch housing.
-
Manual sliding operation: The raised round knob moves the latch into or out of a compatible keeper.
-
Polished chrome finish: A bright, reflective finish for coordinating with existing chrome restroom hardware.
-
Replacement-friendly mounting pattern: The 2-3/4″ hole spacing provides a specific measurement for matching your current latch.
-
Included mounting fasteners: Supplied fasteners are intended for 1″-thick doors.

How to Check the Fit
Before ordering, check these four details:
-
Measure between hole centers. Measure from the center of one mounting hole to the center of the other—not between the outside edges.
-
Measure the door thickness. If it differs from 1″, confirm the appropriate fasteners before installation.
-
Inspect the existing keeper. Check its opening, position, and condition. A matching hole pattern alone does not establish that the latch will engage correctly.
-
Identify the door swing. Note whether the door opens into the stall or outward toward the aisle when selecting a replacement Stops (Strikes) And Keepers.
Installation and Alignment
Check the condition of the existing mounting holes and surrounding door material before fastening the replacement latch. Position the latch so it travels freely and meets the keeper without lifting, pushing, or pulling the door out of alignment.
Test the sliding action with the door open first. Then close the door and confirm that the latch engages securely and releases smoothly.
